Our program helps employees learn HOW to quit and quit for good. The program is dynamic, researched-based and leading-edge. Based on medical knowledge from the Mayo Clinic for Nicotine Dependence, and studies from the CDC and World Health Organization, the program informs and empowers smokers to break their addiction to tobacco.

When an employer steps up and supports their employees to quit tobacco use, the attendance and quit rate tend to be much higher than if the employee attempted to quit on their own. Supplying incentives and encouraging group support within the business all lead to a more effective tobacco cessation program.

What companies say
about the
Quit and Live Program

“Most people want to quit tobacco but just don’t know how. This program teaches them how.”

The Quit and Live Program is designed to teach participants to end their tobacco use for the rest of their lives.

Benefits of on-site training to eliminate tobacco smoking and chewing include:

  • Reduction of costs related to tobacco-induced illnesses
  • Minimization of business losses from absenteeism
  • Increased productivity with no time wasted on smoking and/or chewing
  • Reduced health and life insurance costs

You improve your business’s bottom line when you help employees stop using tobacco.

According to studies by the Center for Disease Control, each smoker costs their employer an average of $3400 ($1760 lost productivity and $1623 in excess medical expenditures) annually as a result of tobacco related illness, medication, sick time and reduced productivity. However, when an organization invests in the wellness of its employees, positive results are inevitable. Union Pacific Railroad has experienced a decrease, from 40% to 25%, in smoking prevalence among its employees in a 7-year period. The company now offers a cessation benefit as part of a comprehensive stop-tobacco-use program. As an onsite tobacco cessation consultant for Hewlett-Packard from 1996-2005 Nancy Caspersen, RN, facilitated many employees in quitting tobacco. HP estimates their savings to be over $200,000.
